ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Beth Mai is the founder and director of Stanton Academy. She is an educator with a passion for creating innovative learning environments for neurodivergent children.
Beth started her career as a public school teacher. After nearly two decades of working at the local, board, and provincial levels of education on a variety of initiatives and still longing for a way to meet the needs of all learners, she decided to design an environment for children with a dramatically different approach to learning. This marked the beginning of Stanton Academy's programs.
In addition to leading Stanton Academy, Beth is the president of the London chapter of the Association for Bright Children of Ontario (ABC Ontario) and a retired member of the ABC Ontario executive. In London, she also advocates for the needs of gifted children in Thames Valley District School Board on their Special Education Advisory Committee.
Beth is also trained as a Montessori teacher, is a certified SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted) model parent support group leader, and is a regional contact for Gifted Homeschoolers Forum.
